Huff vs Rydell for podium finish

Chervrolet-man Robert Huff currently holds third in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. SEAT-man Rickard Rydell is only one point behind the Brit and the both are the only drivers able to threaten Gabriele Tarquini for second in the championship.
“I have a more than mathematical chance. Gabriele (Tarquini) is 13 points ahead of me, which is a lot but at the same time not much at all. Just look at the race in Japan where he didn’t score any points,” said Huff.

While Huff is aiming to snatch second from SEAT, Rydell’s goal is to make it SEAT 1-2-3 in the final standings.

“My goal is to take third place in the championship at Macau,” said Macau-expert Rydell.

The Swede has done a lot of races at Macau, most notably his win in the FIA World Cup for Formula 3 in 1992.

“It is very important to get a good qualifying session and I will try to win the first race on Sunday. The track suits the SEAT, but Chevrolet and BMW are equally strong and I think James Thompson (Honda) can be up there as well,” said Rydell.

His rival and Chevrolet Lacetti-driver Huff agrees that the qualifying is extremely important at Macau, more so than on all of the other tracks during the season.

“Qualifying will decide a big part of the race result, but also any accidents and offs. Here, as in Japan, there is little or no time for repairs in between the races, so any damage in race 1 will also affect you in race 2, more so than in the European rounds,” said Huff.

2007 WTCC-champion Andy Priaulx has got a mathematical chance to take second place in the championship. But that requires that he wins both races and that Tarquini, Huff and Rydell all retires from both races.
