Nicola Larini wins for Chevrolet at Bologna
Just as last year Nicola Larini won the Bologna Motor Show Race. The Italian beat BMW-man Jörg Müller in the last round.
“I am very happy to have won this exhibition race for the second year in a row in front of such a large crowd. It is not a championship race, but it is always good to win!” said Larini.
This was the last race of the Chevrolet Lacetti-model. Next year the model will be replaced by the new Cruze.
“My biggest satisfaction today is to have given the Lacetti a last victory in its very last race, just as Rob and Alain did in the last WTCC event in Macau. It’s a deserved farewell to the Lacetti before its retirement, and we hope to give the new Cruze a similar welcome!”
While Larini won the final, Jörg Müller won the most heats, nine out of ten against the other five competitors.
Swedish Honda-man Tomas Engström met the flying Dutchman Duncan Huisman for third place. Huisman came out victorious from the battle.
SEAT-drivers Gabriele Tarquini and Oscar Nogués also took part in the race, but were eliminated in the preliminary phase.
