Loeb takes Race of Champions title

Sebastien Loeb is the new champion of Race Of Champions. The Frenchman took over the title from Mattias Ekström after beating David Coulthard in the final.
“I had done only one race in the Nations Cup, so I didn’t have the experience, and all the drivers have to fight in the start of the Race of Champions, so I didn’t feel so confident,” said Loeb.

Germany took the Nations Cup title after defeating Team Scandinavia in the final round. Michael Schumacher won the decider against Ekström.

There were a total of five touring car drivers in the Race Of Champions this year. Reigning World Touring Car Championship champion Yvan Muller was beaten at an early stage by Loeb.

Ekström was beaten by Andy Priaulx, who then was beaten by Loeb in the semi final. Tom Kristensen was beaten in the first heat against Schumacher.
