Deal between Proteam and D’Aste failed

Despite the earlier announcement that Stefano D’Aste will again race for Proteam Motorsport in 2009, the team has now announced that the agreement between the two parties has vanished.

The Italian driver and team principal Valmiro Presenzini had reached a deal on general principles, but as it turns out, they were unable to finalize the details.

“We have received some unexpected requests from Stefano’s management; requests that had not been discussed prevously and that I am not in the position to accept. Therefore, and with regret, I had to refuse the deal,” Presenzini explained. “We are currently in negotiation with other drivers and we intend to unveil our line up very soon.”
