D’Aste returns to Wiechers Sport

FIA World Touring Car Championship-privateer driver Stefano D’Aste has been confirmed to return to Wiechers Sport in 2009. There have been many turns for D’Aste lately where he first signed again for Proteam Motorsport, only to announce that they could not reach an agreement.

Wiechers Sport have announced that D’Aste will get a team mate during the 2009 season. But the identity of this driver is still unknown.

The driver line-up for Proteam Motorsport is also still unclear. After the exit of D’Aste and still no renewed contract for new champion Sergio Hernandez, two seats have been opened. Rumors suggest that we will se at least one driver who is new for WTCC in the team next year.
