Félix Porteiro to Proteam Motorsport?

Félix Porteiro is going to drive for Proteam in the World Touring Car Championship 2009 according to Las Provincias. Earlier it was indicated that he would join the Campos Racing-team, driving a Honda Accord. But apparently the reason for the changed plans is that the Campos-team is having difficulties getting the required funds to be ready for the entry deadline at the end of this month.

Porteiro left BMW Team Italy Spain after the 2008 season and was replaced by 2008 independents champion Sergio Hernandez. If the indicated plans goes through, Porteiro will drive the very same car Hernandez took the title with last season.

The future for Campos Racing remains to be seen. The team took over the cars and equipment from N-Technology when that team was put in to liquidation.
