Chevrolet pleased with performance so far
The Chevrolet Cruze made it’s debute yesterday in competition. Two of them finished the test session in the top ten, albeit at the bottom of that top ten, in eighth and nineth. Nicola Larini was the quickest Chevrolet driver, ahead of Alain Menu. Rob Huff finished the session in twelfth. The drivers are pleased with the performance of the car so far and are confident they will have better pace during the remainder of the event.
“I am happy with the initial set-up of the car and the way the new Cruze feels”, Nicola Larini said after the test session.
“We have a pretty good idea about the changes we need to make tonight in order to improve the set-up, and I’m confident we will be faster in tomorrow’s practice sessions and qualifying.”
Although Alain Menu felt the car didn’t quite suit his driving style yet, he was positive about the first run. “It was a positive session. At least, now we know how we perform with respect to our competitors and where we stand”, Menu explains.
“We need to do some work this evening to tune the car to my driving style, but we know in which direction we have to go”.
Rob Huff, who was the best Chevrolet driver last year, finished the session in twelfth. But the young Briton wasn’t worried about that too much. “I am pleased with the overall performance and feel of the car”, he said.
“Today, the track was getting quicker and quicker towards the end of the session, and I was on used tires in the last run, so I believe there is quite some margin for improvement tomorrow”.
