Rob Huff frustrated with season debut
Rob Huff had an frustrating debut at Curitiba with the new Chevrolet Cruze. The first race was ended with technical problems and he finished outside the points in the second race.
“It’s been a bit of a frustrating start to the season. It must be written somewhere that Curitiba is jinxed for us. In race one, I managed to avoid trouble in the initial laps and was aiming at some points, when the throttle cable broke and that was my race over,” said Huff.
The second race saw some encouraging sings. Huff started from the back of the grid after his retirement in race one. He managed to climb up to 13th and put the second fastest lap of the race.
“Starting from the back and with a wet track, we worked hard to move forward and made the best progress possible,” said Huff.
But despite the hard start, Huff feels that the Cruze is showing a lot of potential and that bad luck made things look worse.
“We could have got into the shoot-out in qualifying had I not been held up on my best flying lap, and then in the first race we were heading for a points-scoring finish when we stopped. On its WTCC race debut, the Chevrolet Cruze has shown a lot of potential and the whole team is really encouraged by its early speed and performance.”
