Rydell leads SEAT domination in Mexico

Rickard Rydell was the fastest man of the morning practice in Mexico. The Swede posted a time of 1:37.138, a time that is 2.7 seconds faster than last year’s lap record much thanks to the new surface. Second fastest was Gabriele Tarquini, third Yvan Muller and Jordi Gené fourth. Best non SEAT driver was Augusto Farfus in fifth, seven tenths behind Rydell.

Farfus headed four BMW’s with Andy Priaulx sixth, Jörg Müller seventh and independent driver Félix Porteiro eigth.

Tiago Monterio, who span once during the session, was ninth fastest and Alessandro Zanardi tenth.

Best Chevrolet-man was Nicola Larini in 13th, almost two seconds slower compared to the best time of Rydell. His team mate Robert Huff was never able to get out on track due to technical problems with the Cruze.
