Tarquini penalty to be decided next week

SEAT filed a protest against the penalty against Gabriele Tarquini in the second race at Puebla, Mexico. The final decision is going to be taken next week in the International Court of Appeal in Paris. The Stewards in Mexico gave Tarquini a 30 second penalty after the second race in Mexico.

Tarquini was involved in an incident with BMW driver Jörg Müller. The both collided on lap six at the exit of the north baking.

The both were fighting for second position in the race and the incident resulted in Müller spinning off and finishing 13th while Tarquini was able to take the finish line in 8th.

The stewards judged Tarquini to have caused an avoidable incident and also, besides the 30 second penalty, gave him a penalty of ten grid positions that will remain suspended for the three coming races.
