Muller ahead of Menu at Marrakech

Yvan Muller was fastest in the first ever official test session ahead of the FIA World Touring Car Championship race at Marrakech. The reigning champion lapped the track just four thousands of a second faster than Chevrolet man Alain Menu.

Third fastest was the Swede Rickard Rydell in the diesel powered SEAT Léon ahead of Robert Huff in the Chevrolet Cruze. Rydell trailed team mate Muller’s best time with 0.651 seconds.

Fifth fastest, leading three SEAT’s, was Gabriele Tarquini. His team mates Jordi Gene and Tiago Monteiro was sixth and seventh respectively.

Best privateer was Tom Coronel in eight with his closest rival Stefano D’Aste in tenth. The two independents sandwiched Alessandro Zanardi between them in ninth position.
