Alain Menu penalized and moved down

Alain Menu has been penalized after the qualifying session for the first race at Marrakech. The Chevrolet man has been moved down nine places and is going to start tenth instead of second in the first race of the weekend.

The penalty came after Menu failed to weigh the car after the qualifying session.

“Failed to comply with the weighing procedure – the driver didn’t reach its garage under its own power, with no outside assistance.”

“Penalty: cancellation of all times achieved during Q2. The car will start from the 10th position on the grid of race 1 according to Art. 129 b) of FIA 2009 WTCC Reculation.”

Instead Gabriele Tarquini is going to start second and Yvan Muller third, behind pole man Rob Huff.
