BMW files protest against SEAT
BMW Team Germany has filed a protest against the SEAT drivers that have finished during todays two races at Marrakech. Subject of the protest is the restricted turbo pressure, which can be a maximum of 2.5 bar according to the regulations.
The FIA had initially limited the pressure on the grounds that the current measurement methodology was not sufficient to ensure the measured pressure was exact.
Despite that, the FIA did enter the rule into the 2009 regulations.
This caused a lot of confusion, which BMW now wants to have cleared. In order to get this, the team has filed an official protest with the Stewards of the Meeting.
Untill the Stewards have come with a decision, the results of both races as well as the drivers and manufacturers standings are suspended.
