SEAT back on top in the warm up
SEAT shine again in Morocco, taking the first five spots in the warm up of the WTCC race at Marrakech in Africa. Yvan Muller led the times, followed by Jordi Genè and Tom Coronel, who has occupied the top spot of the session for a long time. Tarquini and Monteiro completed the top five.
The first non-SEAT is BMW Team Germany’s Jorg Muller, half a second off the pace, followed by independent Stefano d’Aste and poleman Rob Huff, the first Chevrolet driver.
Independent poleman Franz Engstler finished the session in ninth position, while Farfus completes the top ten.
The fastest Lada driver was Jaap van Lagen, 16th, while Yokohama Independents’ Trophy Championship leader Félix Porteiro finished the session in 19th position. Stunning 13th for rookie Mehdi Bennani in his SEAT Leon Tfsi.
Larini only completed two laps before returning into the pits, claiming 23rd position, right ahead of Rydell, who clocked a very slow laptime of 2:03.630, almost 14 seconds off the lead. George Tanev didn’t exit the pits.
