Monteiro excluded due to turbo pressure

Tiago Monteiro has been excluded from the sixth race of the FIA World Touring Car Championship that was held at Marrakech. BMW filed a protest against SEAT and the turbo pressure of their diesel engines which led to the FIA technical delegate analysing the data logging.

The turbo pressure limit was exceeded on Monteiro’s logging twice during the second race at Marrakech which resulted in him being excluded.

The SEAT cars of Yvan Muller, Gabriele Tarquini and Jordi Gené were also checked but were not found to have exceeded the limit.

Monteiro finished seventh in the second race which means that Franz Engstler is promoted to seventh and Tom Coronel to eight.
