SEAT prepares for the streets of Pau

WTCC Championship leader Yvan Muller is targeting pole position ahead of this weekend’s fourth round of the season in Pau. Well known for it’s narrow, urban, lay out, passing is extremely difficult on the Pau circuit, something that the SEAT driver acknowledges ahead of his ‘home’ round of the WTCC.

“The Pau circuit is an urban track, so getting the pole position is essential, even more that at other venues”

“Starting from pole position or somewhere from the front line means half the battle is won, considering that the first race has a rolling start. Besides, I think all the competitors are very evenly matched for this weekend’s event. Chevrolet showed what they’re made of in Marrakech and BMW have always raced well in Pau.”

In addition to Muller’s lead in the drivers’ championship, SEAT also lead the manufacturers’ championship, with the Pau round seeing another strong presence on the grid from the Spanish marque.

Further to the five official SEAT Sport drivers, French touring car legend Eric Cayrolle makes his WTCC debut in a SUNRED Engineering Leon alongside teammates Tom Coronel and the returning Tom Boardman, who skipped the Marrakech rounds, while privateers Martin Colak and Medhi Bennani will also be present in France.
