Priaulx disqualified with eight other drivers

The regulations war continues in the FIA World Touring Car Championship! After the qualifying session at Pau, France, the FIA checked the rev limit and turbo pressure of the cars which resulted in nine disqualified cars.

After SEAT got their variable tolerance of the turbo pressure striked, the Spanish manufacturer claimed, according to Autosport, that the petrol powered cars exceeded the rev limit on downshifts.

FIA checked the logging data of all cars regarding the revs during downshifts. This resulted in four BMW’s, including pole man Andy Priaulx, got their fastest times striked..

All Chevrolet cars had their times striked, meaning that Alain Menu, Robert Huff and Nicola Larini have been moved down.

Champion Yvan Muller had his fastest qualifying time (18th) striked as well.

The seven drivers of the nine penalised that made it to Q2 has only got their times striked from Q2, meaning that their times in Q1 count for the new grid order.

As of yet, only the team of Tom Coronel has filed a protest against the penalties.

SEAT Sport n.1 – Yvan Muller: fastest lap time disallowed
