Max ballast weight for BMW in Spain

BMW are going to carry maximum ballast weight for the coming FIA World Touring Car Championship race at Valencia. The calculation system for the penalty weight system has determined that the BMW’s are fastest of the field at the moment, despite not having taken a victory so far this year.

The weight are calculated via the lap times set during the three past races, Mexico, Morocco and France.

The BMW’s are going to carry 40 kilos, the Chevrolet’s (0.4 seconds slower) are going to carry 30 kilos and the diesel SEAT’s (0.5 seconds slower) 20 kilos.

All other cars of the championship are going to have 20 kilos taken off their minimum weight.
