SEAT expresses disagreement with rules
SEAT are heading for their home event at Valencia in Spain this weekend. But in a press statement ahead of the race SEAT expresses their disagreement with the rules.
“SEAT wishes to express their disagreement with this modification to how the technical rules are applied…”
“…which is the third since the season began, but at the same time declares their commitment to the World Championship, which they will demonstrate by vying for the victory in Cheste (Valencia).”
The turbo pressure for the diesel powered SEAT’s have been changed from the initial 2.5 bar with a 0.4 bar tolerance to 2.5 bar without any tolerance to the most recent change of 2.7 bar.
“Despite the short lead-time, SEAT Sport has worked hard to adapt their cars to the new application of the rules.”
“Since it has been impossible to carry out any testing since the FIA published the amendment to the technical rules application, the free training sessions on Saturday will be essential.”
The SEAT’s are running low on penalty weight after their modest result at Pau. The BMW’s are 20 kilos heavier and the Chevrolet’s are 10 kilos heavier.
Despite the poor result at Pau, in France, SEAT still heads both championships with Yvan Muller as leader of the drivers championship.
