Monteiro fastest, BMW closes in
During the second free practise session at Valencia SEAT driver Tiago Monteiro set the fastest time. BMW closed in on the Spanish manufacturer with Augusto Farfus in second place, albeit six tenths slower than the Portuguese driver.
Nicola Larini was again the fastest Chevrolet driver, finishing the session in third place. The Italian was just under a second slower than the fastest man. His team mates, Alain Menu and Robert Huff, were in eighth and nineteenth respectively.
Alessandro, fastest BMW driver in the first session, again was up at the top of the field. He finished the session in fifth, behind SEAT driver Rickard Rydell.
Just like in the first session Tom Coronel was the best privateer driver. he set the nineth fastest time.
Jaap van Lagen, best Lada driver in session one, didn’t make it out on the track, as his engine was changed. This session his team mate Viktor Shapovalov was the best Lada driver, eventhough he was down in 23rd. Kirill Ladygin, the other Lada driver, was in 24th and last.
The session was red flagged for a couple of minutes after Jordi Gene went off and sprayed gravel on the track and lost parts of his rear bumper.
