Augusto Farfus fastest in second session

Eventhough there were four BMW’s at the top of the list at the end of the session, the German cars weren’t as dominant as they were in the first test session. The BMW-drivers took hold of the top positions at the end of the session. Augusto Farfus ended up at the top, ahead of Andy Priaulx, Müller and privateer Porteiro.

As the session progressed the track dried up. Both Chevrolet and SEAT set fastest times, but in the end they couldn’t quite keep up with the flying Beamers. Eventhough they managed to be quick in the most of the session, the gap to the front at the end of the session was bigger as in the first practise.

In the first test, fastest man Priaulx was just over half a second clear of the fastest SEAT. During the second test, Augusto Farfus added another second to that gap. He was 1,6s faster than best SEAT driver Gabriele Tarquini in fifth.

Tarquini was shortly followed by team mate and reigning champion Yvan Muller. Rickard Rydell took seventh, ahead of Tiago Monteiro. Marin Colak, SEAT privateer driver, took a surprising nineth spot in the tables.

Best of the Chevrolets was Rob Huff in tenth. His team mates Alain Menu and Nicola Larini were in 13th and 22nd. At the beginning of the session, when the track was still wet, Larini posted a couple of fastest times, but as the session progressed, he struggled to keep up with the pace.

Debutant Tim Coronel set a good 12th fastest times. His twin brother Tom was down in 23rd, but he only did 4 laps.
