Augusto Farfus takes pole at Brno

Brazilian Augusto Farfus has beaten team mates Andy Priaulx and Alessandro Zanardi to pole at Brno in the Czech Republic. Farfus was only 0.04s quicker than Andy Priaulx. Alex Zanardi was 0.27 down on Farfus, after he was held up on his fast lap by team mate Sergio Hernandez.

Best Chevrolet driver was Nicola Larini, who had found back the pace. He qualified in fourth position, while his team mate Alain Menu set the eighth fastest time in the final part of qualifying. The other Chevrolet driver, Rob Huff, will start from 14th on the grid tommorow.

There were two SEAT’s in the final part of qualifying. In that last part Rickard Rydell was the quickest of the two. He finished in fifth, just ahead of team mate Gabriele Tarquini. Championship leader Yvan Muller didn’t make it into the top ten and will start tomorrow’s race from 13th.

Best privateer driver was Felix Porteiro in tenth. Stefano D’Aste and Tom Coronel will start from 15th and 16th respectively. Tim Coronel qualified in 20th.

The Lada’s were at the back of the field. Jaap van Lagen was 22nd, while Kyrill Ladigin and Viktor Shapavalov will start from the rear in 24th and 25th.
