Andy Priaulx: “I’m really disappointed”
Andy Priaulx looked set for a strong World Touring Car Championship weekend at Brno. The Brit qualified second, only four hundredths of a second from pole, but had his chances destroyed in the start by BMW colleague Augusto Farfus.
”I’m really disappointed with the outcome of this weekend, as I think I had the fastest car on the grid,” said Priaulx.
The crash destroyed the front end of his BMW and left him with zero points from the first race.
“Unfortunately I was involved in the first-corner accident in race one. My team did a sensational job in getting my car repaired before the end of the race,” said Priaulx.
Priaulx was able to fight his way back to eight place in the second race after a hard fight with, among others, BMW colleague Jörg Müller.
“In race two I was running behind Jörg Müller, obviously we had a good fight. But it was difficult to get past,” said Priaulx.
A weekend that looked set to give Priaulx many points ended with just one.
“It’s a shame, as again we lost some precious points,” said Priaulx.
