Porteiro extends independent’s lead

Proteam Motorsport driver Félix Porteiro is pulling away in the Yokohama independents trophy of the FIA World Touring Car Championship. The Spaniard won both races at Brno last weekend and secured a further 24 points. Porteiro has got a lead of 26 points ahead of SUNRED Engineering driver Tom Coronel.

Coronel finished second in both races at Brno, securing 16 points.

Third in the Yokohama independents trophy is Franz Engstler on 90 points, eight points behind Coronel.

Behind the leading trio the point gap is considerably larger with Stefano D’Aste in fourth, a whopping 40 points behind Engstler.

Leading independent team is SUNRED Engineering on 127 points ahead of Proteam Motorsport on 117 points.
