Tarquini wins restarted race at Porto

Gabriele Tarquini won the first race at Porto from pole position ahead of Rob Huff and reigning champion Yvan Muller. The race was stopped and restarted due to two accidents on the first lap. Sergio Hernandez was taken to hospital with a injured ankle after colliding with Jaap van Lagen.

The second accident involved Augusto Farfus, Tiago Monteiro, Alain Menu and Nicola Larini.

Farfus tried to pass Monteiro which resulted in Menu spinning in to the wall and Monteiro getting tagged by Larini.

The race was stopped to clear the track from cars and debris. At the restart Tarquini pulled away in the lead, leaving Huff in the clear in second place.

Monteiro joined the restart and finished fourth ahead of Larini and Jordi Gené and Rikard Rydell.

Farfus got a penalty for the incident with Menu, dropping him to eight over the finish line.

Andy Priaulx took ninth ahead of leading privateer Stefano D’Aste.
