Menu heads Chevrolet 1-2 at Brands
Alain Menu has won a race at Brands Hatch each time he has raced on the track since 2006, a record that he extended today. The Swiss driver turned his pole position in to a win ahead of his team mate Rob Huff. Andy Priaulx claimed the third and final podium position.
While Menu won the race, he did not have the lead for the entire race.
Huff passed Menu on the out side at Paddock Hill, only to be passed back by Menu on the fifth lap.
Huff instead got pressure from Priaulx, but the Chevrolet driver could pull away as Priaulx got attacked by Gabriele Tarquini.
Priaulx and Tarquini switched places for a couple of laps, but Priaulx emerged winning from the battle meaning that Tarquini had to settle for fourth.
Rickard Rydell claimed fifth ahead of Jörg Müller and Tiago Monteiro. Augusto Farfus is going to start from pole in the second race after finishing eight in this race.
Farfus was higher up initially in the race but was tapped in to a spin by Yvan Muller on the opening lap.
Muller did it unintentionally though as he got hit by Felix Porteiro and Norbert Michelisz. Muller had to retire after the incident.
