Jason Watt planning one off WTCC race

Disabled Seat Leon driver Jason Watt is planning to drive a one off race in the World Touring Car Championship at Oschersleben in two weeks, TouringCarTimes has learned. Watt has been trying to fit in a toe-in-the water run in the WTCC for some time, and now it seems to happen for the Dane.

Rumours are saying that only sponsorship negotiations are delaying the announcement, as the team has cancelled an engagement at the WTCC raceweekend 4th/6th of September.

The crew of the team has been busy at work preparing, and hopes are high that the financial support can be found for the effort.

If he should succeed, then he will be the third Dane racing the round; Kristian Poulsen is continuing his Engstler Motorsport full season in the series, and Chevrolet Motorsport Danmark driver Michel Nykjær will try out the series before a possible full on attack next year.

More to follow.
