Tom Coronel hoping to finish the season

Despite the fact that SEAT Holland has stopped the funding of Tom Coronel’s WTCC program, the Dutchman is still hoping to finish the season.
“It is a big disappointment, because Japan and Macau are very special places to me. However, we are looking for the budget that will enable us to race in Okayama and Macau,” said Coronel.

The reason for the SEAT Holland drop out is financial reasons related to decreasing car sales.

“I fully respect the motivations behind the Pon Car’s decision. They have always given me tremendous support and the fact that I have been racing in WTCC for the last five years is fully due to their efforts,” said Coronel.

Coronel is currently second in the Yokohama Independent’s Trophy, with a good chance of fighting for the title with Félix Porteiro and Franz Engstler.

“I never give up, so I will try everything I can to complete this mission,” said Coronel.
