Larini penalized after Lada crash

Nicola Larini has been given a 30 second penalty after the incident with Jaap van Lagen on the last lap of the first WTCC race at Oschersleben today. In addition to the penalty, the Chevrolet driver has been given a ten position grid penalty, though suspended for the next three races.

The incident was when battling for fifth position in the race, van Lagen being on the way to his and Lada’s best ever finish.

The incident resulted in van Lagen spinning off, later rejoining to finish 11th, and the stewards found Larini responsible for causing the collision.

Larini was dropped from fifth to 15th because of the 30 second penalty.
