Mehdi Bennani is back at Imola

Mehdi Bennani is going to be back in the World Touring Car Championship for the race at Imola this weekend. The Moroccan is aiming to do a full season next year.
“I am preparing to do the whole season in 2010 with Exagon Engineering. The team knows what it is doing and they are helping me grow as a driver,” said Bennani to the official championship site.

Bennani made his debut on his home race at the track Marrakech in Morocco.

“My debut in Marrakech was really nice and it was great to learn among famous touring car drivers. I had excellent help from Yvan Muller who helped me get my good result there,” said Bennani.

The 26 year old Moroccan is more than pleased to be back in the competitive championship.

“Yes, there is good fighting. All my friends like this championship and tell me it’s better than Formula One because there is more action. Also, it’s like a family here and all the drivers get on very well. It is great to be back,” said Bennani.
