SEAT ends co-operation with ORECA
SEAT are going to end their co-operation with ORECA for next year. This season ORECA ran the cars for Yvan Muller and Tiago Monteiro.
“I can confirm that we are stopping with SEAT: it is 100 per cent,” said ORECA boss Hughes de Chaunac to Autosport.
As we have reported before, SEAT are expected to reduce their program for next year, with the ending of ORECA as the first step.
“I expect them to go on with a much smaller programme in 2010,” said Chaunac.
SEAT Motorsport boss Jamie Puig has not confirmed their plans for the next season. The Spaniard says that it all depends on the rules for 2010.
“First we have to know what the rules are then we will decide,” said Puig.
Puig also underlined that they were not in anyway unhappy with their co-operation with ORECA, but that it was due to other matters.
Which of the SEAT drivers that are going to remain for next year is still uncertain. But information to TouringCarTimes suggest that we will most likely see at least Jordi Gené and Gabriele Tarquini stay.
