Lopez takes title lead with race one win

Jose-Maria Lopez has jumped into the lead of the TC2000 championship after winning the first race at San Juan.

The Argentine driver assumes a 13 point lead over team mate Juan Manual Silva, after he could manage no better than fourth.

The third Equipe Petrobras driver, Leonel Pernia finished fifth, meaning the team still holds the top three positions in the championship, with Toyota’s Norberto Fontana just behind in the standings in fourth.

There are just two races left in the championship, later today the second race at San Juan and the season finale on the 29th November at Potrero de los Funes.
