Equal weight for front runners

Championship contenders Gabriele Tarquini, Yvan Muller and Augusto Farfus will all race in the title deciding race weekend at Macau with equal compensation weight.

The calculation to determine the weights is based on lap times shown by the various cars in the prior three rounds – Oschersleben, Imola and Okayama.

Based on the data, the BMW 320si and SEAT León TDi cars with both run with the maximum permitted 40kg compensation weight, with the Chevrolet Cruze having their compensation weight reduced from 30kg to only 10kg.

Alex Zanardi’s sequential gearbox laden BMW 320si will see 20kg taken off his base weight, as will the LADA Priora and SEAT León TFSi cars.
