Thompson taken to hospital after crash

James Thompson has been taken to hospital after a huge crash with the stranded car of Stefano D’Aste. Fortunately D’Aste had left his car before Thompson crashed in to it. But the force of the impact was immense as D’Aste’s BMW had its rear end pushed in past the rear wheels.

While Thompson was taken to hospital, initial reports say that it was a regular check-up.

Wiechers-Sport reported that the car of D’Aste is completely destroyed and it remains to be seen if they are able to make it to the race.

The oil on the track from this incident later caused the accident between Yvan Muller, Gabriele Tarquini and Alain Menu.

Muller lost control of his car when reaching the place where D’Aste and Thompson had crashed. Tarquini and Menu were then unable to stop their cars and crashed.
