Gené tops the warm-up session
Jordi Gené topped the Macau warm-up ahead of team mate Rickard Rydell. Augusto Farfus was the fastest BMW in third, as pole sitter Huff was 5th, championship leader Tarquini 6th.
Yvan Muller parked up early with issues, and so ended up only 14th fastest in the session.
Independent points leader Tom Coronel failed to set a competitive lap, which may indicate their were issues for the Sunred SEAT team.
Tarquini is still suffering from stiffness in his neck as a result of the crash in qualifying two days ago, but his car was functioning for the whole session after successful repair work on his car.
Yvan Muller on the other hand, reported very little physical discomfort after a days rest since the incident, but with slight technical problems with his car in the session instead.
Title outsider Farfus was just four tenths down on pace setter Gené and has continued to show good pace – but the title will still be a tall order with Yvan Muller & Tarquini both starting in points paying positions.
SEAT also have to contend with the constructors championship and can’t afford to lose further points to BMW by allowing Monteiro & Gené to fall behind non-SEAT cars in the races.
