López wins title, as León takes win

José Maria López has won the 2009 TC2000 championship, despite a non-points finish in 13th – as Ford-YPF Driver Gabriele Ponce De León takes his first win of the year.

Honda’s Leonel Pernía sprung a surprise and snatched second place in the standings, after claiming third at the Potrero de los Funes circuit.

Guillermo Ortelli & Alain Menu finished strongly, claiming fifth place for Chevrolet.

In the final standings, López wins the championship with 158 points, from Petrobras Honda team mate Leonel Pernía with 140, and Juan Manual Silva with 127.

Toyota Team Argentina’s Norberto Fontana finishes fourth in the standings with 118 points.
