Farfus tops first session of the year
Augusto Farfus showed adapting to a new team won’t be a problem by setting the fastest time in the first practice session at Curitiba.
Alain Menu was second fastest, almost half a second down in his Chevrolet Cruze.
The session was briefly interrupted by a red flag, caused by Stefano D’Aste. The session didn’t go to well for the new SR-Sport team either, running the TDI SEAT León for the first time.
Top of the SEAT’s was 2009 WTCC Champion Gabriele Tarquini, just over a second down on Farfus’s top lap time. Jordi Gené only managed three laps before stopping on circuit in his León TDI.
The RBM BMW’s and Chevrolet’s filled out the top five slots perhaps unexpectedly, followed by a long list of SEAT’s.
