Farfus happy with pace so far in Brazil
Augusto Farfus has set the pace early on in the first practice session of the FIA World Touring Car Championship premiere in Curitiba, Brazil.
“I am happy. We took advantage of the red flag and pitted to make some changes to the car, which were very effective,” said Farfus.
The Brazilian was quick on his home track, setting a lap time that his closest competitor, Alain Menu, was almost half a second from.
“It was a good feeling to drive around so quickly. Now I have set the pace,” said Farfus.
But the BMW driver expects the others to close the gap as the premiere weekend progresses.
“I’m sure that from tomorrow the others will be closer but I wish to stay ahead if I can,” said Farfus.
