Chevrolet finally gets good season start

After years of misfortune at the season openers, Chevrolet at last took revenge by taking the top three positions in the first race at Curitiba.

Yvan Muller won the race after starting from pole position. “I could not have expected a better start of the season and the relationship with Chevrolet,” Muller said right after the finish.

Rob Huff finished just over a second behind Yvan Muller, after starting from fourth. “I managed to get a good start and tucked behind Menu,” he said. “Gené and Menu the went a bit wide and I out dragged them. The Chevrolet 1-2-3 is something we never dreamt of before”

Alain Menu was pleased with his third place as well. “I have never had a good result at Curitiba, so I’m happy with taking a podium here,” Menu noted.

David Grace, Chevrolet team manager, said: “I don’t think it comes any better. I think it’s the team work that has done it. We’ve worked very hard during the winter and it has payed off.”
