D’Aste pleased with independents pole

Stefano D’Aste claimed pole position in the independents category for the FIA World Touring Car Championship premiere in Brazil.
“BMW Motorsport have been a great help with some adjustments and the team and my engineer made some last minute set-up changes that worked well,” said D’Aste

D’Aste was not expecting to be on pole as the team suffered from problems earlier, as pictured above.

“If you had asked me two days ago if I would be here I would have said no as we’ve had lots of problems,” said D’Aste.

The Proteam Motorsport driver’s closest opponent in the independents category is Darryl O’Young in the Bamboo Engineering Chevrolet Lacetti, two tenths behind.
