Mexico replacement scheduled for autumn

The FIA World Touring Car Championship organisation has not decided yet if the cancelled round in Mexico is going to get a replacement round. But if there will be a replacement round, it is going to take place in september or october.
“If there is a replacement, this will take place in the gap between Valencia and Okayama,” said KSO general manager Marcello Lotti.

No tracks have been mentioned yet for the eventual replacement round.
“[It] would be somewhere on the way to Japan [from Spain],” said Lotti.

The WTCC organisation could opt to go with a reduced championship calendar, a not too unlikely decision in the economically stressed times of today.

“However we could very well stay with eleven events,” said Lotti.

A decision on the matter is going to be taken ahead of the WTCC race at Marrakech in Morocco on may the 2nd.
