BMW & Audi WTCC & DTM drivers to battle at N24
Top drivers from BMW & Audi, the two major marques from two of Europe’s biggest touring car series will do battle next month at the Nurburgring 24 Hour Race.
BMW return to the race as a works squad for the first time since 2005, as Audi return after winning in class last year.
Former WTCC BMW works squad Schnizter Motorsport will run two BMW M3 GT2’s at the Nurburgring 24 Hour race for a host of WTCC stars. Three-times champion Andy Priaulx will race at the famous event, along with RBM team mate Augusto Farfus, and former Schnitzer WTCC drivers Jörg Müller and Dirk Müller.
Dirk Werner, Uwe Alzen and Dirk Adorf make up the rest of the BMW team’s line-up.
BMW Motorsport director Mario Thiessen said:
“This race is very special. The Nordschleife is probably the most challenging circuit in the world. It cast a spell on me back in my youth. This made it all the more satisfying to win there many years down the line. The fans are fantastic and create a unique atmosphere. Only those who can cope with the changing conditions and avoid the pitfalls can be successful at this classic.”

In the other corner, Ingolstadt’s Audi outfit will return to the race where they won in class last year in the Audi R8 LMS, with Phoenix Racing & Team Abt Sportline running in the GT3 class.
Two-times DTM champions Mattias Ekström & Timo Scheider – as well as current drivers Mike Rockenfeller & Oliver Jarvis will drive for the marque.
Also competing will be former DTM drivers Christijan Abt, Lucas Luhr & Pierre Kaffer, Frank Biela & Marcel Fässler. Abt, Luhr and Kaffer took the class win for the team last year and will be hoping to repeat that success.
