Tarquini on pole in red-flagged qualifying
Gabriele Tarquini claimed pole position for the FIA World Touring Car Championship race in Morocco. The session was stopped early as Michel Nykjaer crashed his SEAT Léon in the closing minutes. Rob Huff claimed second for Chevrolet.
The first qualifying session was stopped earlier as well. Norbert Michelisz was in the very top when he made a mistake and planted his SEAT Léon in the barriers with some front damage.
Jordi Gené claimed third on the grid ahead of team mate Tiago Monteiro. Previous champion Yvan Muller is going to line up fifth ahead of crashed Nykjaer.
Tom Coronel was seventh fastest ahead of newcomer Fredy Barth and independent BMW-driver Franz Engstler.
Neither of the factory BMW-drivers, Augusto Farfus and Andy Priaulx, managed to get in to the second qualifying session. Both were on quick laps in the final minutes of the first qualifying session when Michelisz crashed. Farfus is going to start 11th and Priaulx 12th.
