Priaulx hopes for big improvement for Monza

Andy Priaulx claimed the first victory of the year for BMW at Marrakech yesterday. The Brit won the second race which was reduced to only two (!) laps of real racing due to safety car sessions.
“It was a tough race with the safety car and I knew Yvan Muller, who was right behind me, was quicker than me so I needed to make a brilliant re-start,” said Priaulx.

The BMW Team RBM driver managed to stay ahead and pushed very hard on the two final laps, almost putting his BMW in to the wall.

“I was on the limit, but I knew if I wasn’t he would have passed me,” said Priaulx.

While Priaulx secured the first win of the year for BMW, both BMW-drivers have been off pace compared to the SEAT’s and Chevrolet’s so far this season.

“I know we will have some more tough races to come and let’s hope we can find a big improvement for Monza,” said Priaulx.
