Pierre-Yves Corthals returns to WTCC at Zolder
Pierre-Yven Corthals returns to the FIA World Touring Car Championship for his home race at Zolder in june.
“I am delighted, to put it mildly, to announce my participation in the race at Zolder,” said Corthals.
The Belgian is going to drive a petrol powered SEAT Léon for the team Exagon Engineering.
“If I would have opted for the diesel SEAT I could not have taken part as a privateer. I also fear that the TDi is going to be on a lot of weight as they have been on top in the previous races,” said Corthals.
Corthals last took part in the WTCC 2008, driving for Exagon Engineering, in the privateers cup where he finished fourth with four wins. The Belgian has been longing to return to the WTCC.
“This is the discipline that I like the most of racing. The fight from the first to the last meter, searching hundredths of seconds to make the difference,” said Corthals.
