Ford fastest in qualifying, Ponce De León on pole

The Ford-YPF Team topped the timesheets in qualifying, with Norberto Fontana fastest from team mate Gabriel Ponce De León.

Fontana however will move back ten places on the grid on account of his championship position, so team mate Ponce De León will start from pole for the Sprint Race at Alta Gracia.

The top Honda was Nestor Girolami who set the third fastest time, just ahead of the top Toyota driver, Mariano Werner.

Reigning champion José María López was sixth fastest, just ahead of a very impressive run by Bernardo Llaver in the Toyota Corolla.

Renault had a troubled session, with Matías Rossi only qualifying 17th, and will drop 11 places from that on account of his championship status for the sprint.

Fresh back from his debut in the World Touring Car Championship, Leonel Pernía qualified 14th
