Radermecker hoping to benefit from track knowledge
Vincent Radermecker is hoping track knowledge will aid him in his first WTCC race since 2006, as he races at Zolder with Chevrolet in the new Cruze.
Radermecker, who races for the Greenspeed n’ Technology Volvo team in the Belgian Touring Car Series, last drove in the World Touring Car Championship back in 2006 with Maurer Motorsport, the same team with which he won the German ADAC Procar series that year.
“The advantage is that I know the track very well, so I will not have a question mark when I jump in the car on my first lap” said Vincent to TouringCarTimes.
“On the track I’ll know where I have to break approximately, I’ll know the corners, I’ll know everything there.”
Though Radermecker has a great deal of experience in Chevrolet S2000 cars from racing the Lacetti, this will be his first opportunity to race in the new Cruze LT.
“I’ll have to learn as quickly as possible the car and how it reacts to the set-up. That will be the main challenge, to find the set-up that suits my style.”
The WTCC returns to Belgium for the first time since it’s inaugural season in 2005 next weekend, and for the first time to the Zolder Circuit.
