Coronel to challenge gamers at Zolder
Tom Coronel will have more than 21 competitors this weekend, as gamers from around the world will also be joining the virtual grid to battle in the same SEAT TDI.
iOpener Enabled Technology will allow computer gamers currently Beta testing the new Real-Time Racing game, developed by Simbin, the creators of the RACE series of games – to race in real time on a virtual representation of the Zolder track against Tom Coronel’s SR-Sport SEAT León.
“It is a huge kick to experience the new competitors. You not only need to keep an eye on the guys on the track, but you continuously wonder whether someone online is quicker than you”, explained Tom Coronel.
“The gamers all have the same SEAT Leon TDI as I have, so it is all down to quality of the driver”.
Andy Lürling, Group President of iOpener said of the event:
“We are extremely proud that we can offer gamers from all over the globe the option to virtually participate in an official FIA live race. And all that in real-time!”
