Monteiro tops damp morning practice

Tiago Monterio was fastest on a drying Zolder track during the first morning practice. The SEAT-driver lapped the track in 1:44.492, just 0.093 seconds faster than Tom Coronel. Jordi Gené made it a SEAT 1-2-3 in third.

Yesterday’s fastest man Augusto Farfus Jr. was the best non-SEAT driver in fourth, almost half a second behind.

Fredy Barth and Gabriele Tarquini occupied positions five and six ahead of touring car long runners Alain Menu and Yvan Muller.

Top privateer Franz Engstler and Sergio Hernández finished ninth and tenth respectively.
