Priaulx to contest 2010 Race of Champions

Three-times WTCC champion Andy Priaulx will contest this years Race of Champions event, now being held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Priaulx has contested the Race of Champions for the past four years; at the last year at the Stade de France in Paris, both events held at Wembley Stadium in the UK, and last year at the Birds Nest Stadium in China.

This year the event moves to Düsseldorf’s ESPRIT Arena, on November 27th-28th, the week after the season ending round of the WTCC at Macau.

“Every year The Race of Champions gets stronger and stronger – and this year is going to be an amazing event.” said Priaulx.

“It will be great to be racing in Germany with Schumacher and Vettel and so many other big names. I always thoroughly enjoy the weekend. I was told it was good fun but the racing is pretty intense and always competitive. The atmosphere in the stadium is special too. This year’s Race of Champions is going to rock.”

In three of the past four years, the Race of Champions has been won by DTM racer Mattias Ekstrom, but a scheduling conflict means it’s unlikely Mattias will be able to defend his title this year, as the final round of the DTM will be taking place in China at the same time.
